I am a year older today,Praise Jesus!!. My birthday always brings a
different feeling from the expected excitement of a year added on to my
life,Instead i begin reflecting so much on the GRACE upon my life and a
little portion of fear takes grip of my conscience. Many people of my
age, former classmates and street mayes have died, many havent received
Christ up to now, many are still struggling so much to have a"normal"
life but Eish, this God of Mercy allowed me to have a beautiful
calm and collected wife,an ever caring Mother,my lovely blood brothers
and sisters,Most valued friends i have made all these years who stand by
me.....Behold what manner of love is this?
I miss the mark and He still calls me the apple of His eye,i make mistakes and he tells me ,my MERCIES are new everymorning.
I miss the mark and He still calls me the apple of His eye,i make mistakes and he tells me ,my MERCIES are new everymorning.
May i have your ear God just for a minute.....In the name of Jesus
Christ i love you and i thank you for a year that has been added on this
life.

Wondering if people still enjoy "live shows" that much, since everyone
seems to have turned to be a camera men.One can't dance anymore because they
will be filming the whole concert with their smart phone kikikiki.
Now it gets worse in church when the Spirit of the Lord is moving and people enjoying being in the presence but some will be stark on the smartphone filming every bit of it.Could I be the one not moving with the times or I just have to be at the other side of the stage to understand this?

In todays' Hmetro an article on our music journey and FREE concert
tomorrow 2 July 2016 at Zimbabwe College of Music from 2pm to 6pm. See
you tomorrow!!
Saturday
Event- We
are promising an exciting encouraging musical journey of Charles and Namatayi
Chipanga. This
is a day to Celebrate Chalenam Rhythms’ 5th anniversary. The band has people
who have their music careers spanning over 30yrs such as Never Mpofu(Chalenam
Bassist), Namatayi Chipanga(13years), Charles Chipanga (21yrs of professional
career) but after their departure from Tuku music, they have 5years together.
We have release 3 albums to date, Prayer Expose' 2011(Charles Chipanga), Grace
Moments 2013(Namatayi Chipanga), Goodness 2015(Charles Chipanga.
There
will be short interactive workshops on BRANDING, MARKETING, SONG
COMPOSITION,PRODUCTING,SOUND ENGINEERING,VOCAL TRAINING. Basically we will be
giving back for free the services people usually pay for when hiring us. How we
come up with a song, how we conduct rehearsal, how we market our songs, how a
song is composed, what music production is...all this is to add knowledge to
the young musicians who are being ushered into the main stream from College of
music, those in church choirs and those who wish to take music seriously. There
will also be a braai to make it a family fun day out…
The
journey has been a mixture of steep episodes and some flowing moments. We have
learnt to do things on our own, to write a song, practice it, record it, look
for ways to market it, promote your own show and be the main act on the very
show, so all this has been found in the past 5yrs. The experience we got while
working with other people has really helped us go through this smoothly.

WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO ATTEND A MUSIC CONCERT TO EVERY LIVING
SOUL.
Music has always had a therapeutic effect on every living
soul that many people haven’t mastered over the years. It’s never enough to
listen to a song or your favourite music or even the music that you do not
understand through a radio. It is unfortunate that Zimbabwe has less than 40 percent
outgoing people who have really connected with the soul of an artist or the
soul of a musical piece.
After years of listening to Lucky Dube on radio, when I
finally had a chance to watch his music video , I put a face to the music and
everything started making sense and boom the connection was there. Same thing happened when I listened to this
youthful outfit called Chalenam Rhythms, my first impressions were that ‘Gospel
Music’ is the same , repetitive choruses that I used to sing when I was young
and there was nothing new on offer but this Percussive jazz approach to music
made me think twice. Technology has really made life even easier to put a face
to music; YouTube, live streaming and Facebook has made people find it easy to
put a face to the music and understand it better. Most Zimbabwean artists are
now concentrating on live DVDs which is generally a way to put face to the good music that people are listening to
everyday.
It is the same reason why music will never be 100percentage
a universal language Chipanga said. Generally you can’t appreciate artists more
when you haven’t had an up-close and personal encounter with them on stage,
when they put action and explanation to their music in a relaxed environment.
I do not want to get into a debate whether or not the
language a song is written to makes a song universal or not. I want to focus
entirely on the music, the NOTES themselves. Think "classical" music,
for example, most of which are entirely wordless. I often listen to a radio
that plays classical music, and they often describe before or after that what
setting the music was written to - like theatre plays, dramas, operas, etc. The
feeling they transmit might be understood by the one's watching the play at the
moment. To me, as the radio listener, however, some tracks don't make sense for
the described settings, at all.
Some tones or melodies might have a certain connotation to
them, like violins can make you grasp the feeling of deep, desperate longing,
as well as tell stories of fidelity, festivities and dancing people, depending
on the way they're played. Music can tell stories - but the story we perceive
is entirely subjective, depending on our upbringing, experiences, memories
associated with certain notes/strings of notes or our current moods. Listening
to a piece of music, ripped out of its original "habitat" - which is
for example, the theatrical play it was written for - can make the listener
imagine an entirely different set of events or invoke different emotions in
different people. Music cannot evoke the same memory or deliver the same story
that the "author" thought of when composing the tune to whoever
listens - in fact, some pieces of music can only be understood or appreciated
by people schooled in the subject, while to other it makes no sense at all.
Music cannot deliver the same message or imperative when
repeated to different people.
"Dance to your hearts delight" is something you
might be able to translate in a piece of music by the way the score is written or the way it is
played.
"Go and fetch me the newspaper", however, might be
easily translated into music, but not everyone you would play the notes for
such an imperative to would understand the message immediately, not even
schooled people.
Even emotional queues might not be caught the same way.
Music CAN invoke emotions in people, connotations to memories they had or fire
up their fantasies. But they will be different in each one of us. Thus i do not
believe it is a universal kind of language.
Chalenam rhythms will put a face to their music on Saturday
9 April at the Zimbabwe German society, where they will be having their ‘season
opener’. Having three albums Prayer
Expose,Grace moments and the latest Goodness, they promised nothing less than a
better understanding of the inspirational music and the language behind it.

Many thanks to everyone who gets time to inbox us their Testimonies, Let
me get this opportunity to answer this question about the song Mututu. I
never sufferes nose bleeding(mututu) as a child, neither did any of my
blood brothers and sisters but its just a song tht came while I was
bathing in a cold shower in june last year and was developed inside me
for a long time untill it became a complete song. Its surprising how
many say they bn healed eversince they listened to e song. Surely this
humbles me and continue to send your testimonies of what God is doing
through the album Goodness!!

Because God loved us, we are able to love back.
1st Corinthians 13 from verse
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails.

When i read this i had to share....
By Uhuru Kenyatta
I was jogging this morning and I noticed a person about 1/2 a kilometre ahead. I could tell he was running a little slower than me and I thought, good, I shall try to catch him. I had about a kilometre before Ineeded to turn off. So I started running faster and faster. Every block, I was gaining on him just a little bit. After just a few minutes I was only about 100 metres behind him, so I really picked up the pace and pushed myself. You would have thought I was running in the last leg of an Olympic competition. I was determined to catch him. Finally, I did it! I caught and passed him. On the inside I felt so good. "I beat him" Of course, he didn't even know we were racing. After I passed him, I realised I had been so focused on competing against him that I had missed my turn. I had gone nearly six blocks past my turn and I had to turn and go back. Isn't that what happens in life when we focus on competing with co-workers, neighbours, friends, family, trying to outdo them or trying to prove that we are more successful or more important? We spend our time and energy running after them and we miss out on our own paths to our God given destinies. The problem with unhealthy competition is that its a never ending cycle. There will always be somebody ahead of you, someone with a better job, nicer car, more money in the bank, more education, a prettier wife, a more handsome husband, better behaved children, etc. But realize that "You can be the best that you can be, you are not competing with no one." Some people are insecure because they pay too much attention to what others are , where others are going, wearing and driving. Take what God has given you, the height, weight and personality. Dress well and wear it proudly, you'll be blessed by it. Stay focused and live a healthy life. There is no competition in Destiny. Run your own race and wish others well!!
